Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fishing Rod Builder to join our team. This full-time position involves crafting high-quality fishing rods through wrapping, finishing, and repair work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fishing and an eye for detail, ensuring each rod meets our exact standards of quality and craftsmanship. This role offers the opportunity to grow with our company and transition into a management position over time. We are willing to fully train a highly motivated individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wrap fishing rod guides using thread, applying precise tension and alignment techniques
• Apply epoxy finishes to rod wraps
• Build fishing rods from blank to completion according to customer specifications
• Perform repairs on damaged rods, including guide replacement, rewrapping, and refinishing
• Select and install appropriate components including guides, reel seats, grips, and hardware
• Inspect all work for quality, durability, and aesthetic standards
• Manage inventory of rod building components, blanks, and materials
• Prepare and ship completed orders
• Interact with customers in-store, providing product knowledge and answering questions
• Track and communicate order status to customers
• Maintain accurate records of builds, repairs, and inventory
• Keep workspace clean, organized, and well-stocked with materials

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in rod building, wrapping, and finishing (or willingness to train for highly motivated candidates)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Basic knowledge of fishing rod components and fishing techniques
• Comfortable with inventory management and order tracking

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous rod building experience
• Knowledge of various fishing styles and appropriate rod specifications
• Familiarity with different rod materials, guide systems, and component brands
• Retail or customer-facing experience
• Leadership potential and interest in management responsibilities
