What is technique specific?
At JTODP we have a rod to fit every fishing scenario that comes your way. Certain rods, actions and lengths benefit the angler in certain fishing conditions. Technique Specific is a feature we are very proud of. Ask your local JT Pro about which rod suits you best and why. You’ll be glad that you did!
What is a snare rod?
A snare rod is a dead stick rod that can be used in a number of applications. On the hardwater the Snare Rod allows the fish to take the bait without knowing it is hooked. This vastly improves hook up percentages even during a finicky bite. we promise you’ll be yelling SNARE!
We also carry an open water version. The open water Snare Rod allows the angler to present live bait to the fish. Like the ice fishing snare, when the fish take the bait there is little resistance allowing the angler to take their time letting the fish fully take the bait.

We understand accidents happen so we offer a one time accident replacement. Simply visit www.jtodp.com and fill out the accidental breakage application. A new rod will be sent to you in short order at a discounted rate in a package that you will return your broken rod to us in
How do I best protect my rods?
Like anything you value, it is important to care for your JT Technique Specific Rods.
For long rods, we encourage you to use a rod sleeve when the rod is not in use. The rod sleeve helps prevent accidental breakage, bruising or scratched.
For ice rods we encourage you to store your rods unloaded in a clam shell style hard case. The calm shell style case will firmly hold the rod and keep it from moving around during transportation.
What is your warranty ?
We offer two different warranties. A one year full warranty for any rod defects and an accidental breakage warranty that is good for the life of the rod. To learn more about the warranties visit www.jtodp.com

Why are your rods so sensitive?
The lighter the rod the more energy transfer when detecting bottom or even better a biting fish. Our rods are made of Toray carbon fiber giving them a very light feel with unparalleled strength.
What advantage do I get with a high end rod?
Our rods are Technique Specific for various fishing scenarios and species of fish. This allows the angler to up their percentage of success. Each one of our builds are tested for a minimum of 1.5 years and we use only the finest materials in the industry. If we can’t find a component we feel is worthy of our builds we design and fabricate our own.
How do I secure my reels on your ice rods and Tennessee handles?
A variety of JT Outdoor Product rods are available with a Tennessee handle allowing the angler to place the reel at any location of the rod which allows for supreme balance. Finding a perfect balance with your rod and reel will greatly reduce fatigue while fishing. JTODP offers a SureGrip Tape to apply the reel to your favorite Ice or Open Water Rod!
